What's going on in East Texas this weekend? August 8-11

Here's your weekly list of some of the fun and entertaining things there are to do around East Texas this weekend.

Athens:

Annie Get Your Gun marks the 25th anniversary of the Henderson County Performing Arts Center youth summer musical program.? Annie Oakley is the best shot around, and she manages to support her little brother and sisters by selling the game she hunts. When she's discovered by Col. Buffalo Bill, he persuades this novel sharpshooter to join his Wild West Show. It only takes one glance for her to fall head over heels for dashing shooting ace Frank Butler, who headlines the show. Canton;

Longview:

At ArtsView Children's Theater - The Knight the Castle Rocked. Friday at 7:00pm, Saturday at 2:00pm and 7pm. Click here for tickets.

Gladewater:

Main Street Art Stroll - 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the historic downtown Antique District. Artists will have their works displayed and some will be demonstrating their talents as well. Please be sure to save the date for this amazing event. There will be plenty of free parking, refreshments will be served, and entertainment will be provided. What better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than strolling the Antique District admiring the works of local and regional artisans and enjoying everything The Antique Capital of East Texas has to offer.
