The Love Of Chocolates - Food and Drink Recipes / Food and Drink ...

Chocolate has intrigued the taste buds of all warm-hearted people around the world for ages. Warm-hearted because I do not think cold-hearted people indulge in enough chocolate treats. If they did consume more chocolate we would have fewer problems in the world today. Historically chocolate has been represented as ?food of the gods.? It has found favor with many lovers and been used to mediate and resolve more than a few conflicted relationships. At times a little more than sweet talk is required. Chocolate has become one of the worlds most exchanged gifts. The appeal and economic impact of chocolate on society has grown significantly over the years. It is said that the bank of human relations can not exist without many deposits of quality chocolate. I truly agree and have yet to meet anyone that really hates chocolate. Chocolates are stimulants that can deepen relationships when used creatively. I hear the French have perfected the art of chocolate love.

Today we have great insights into the origin of chocolates. I am sure the first chocolate lovers could not imagine the future of this delicious treat. Chocolate had very humble beginnings. It was first enjoyed by monkeys only to evolve into the world?s leading delicacy. It is actually on record that monkeys were the first to sample this divine delicacy during the ancient Mayan and Aztec civilizations. Humans noticed with curiosity that animals loved this wild chocolate fruit. They found monkeys could chew on it joyfully after discarding the pod. Humans are said to have started chewing on the fruit (cocoa beans) casually until one day a tree fell on fire accidentally.

The aroma had the power to casually charm everyone. Humans fell so in love with the aroma that they gave the fruit deeper consideration as a delicious food source. Chocolate was so popular in both Aztec and Mayan communities that it became a currency and was widely used in religious rituals. It is further said that a certain emperor fell so in love with chocolate that he would drink fifty cups of chocolate syrup per day. I can not have a second bar without a twinge of guilt. Chocolate lovers continue to research and discover new amazing benefits for this mysterious fruit. I sometimes think they just want to justify their conspicuous consumption of mountains of chocolate. If it didn?t taste so good would they do that much research? I believe that at times having a bar of chocolate is simple therapy. It does no require a doctor appointment or prescription. Humans are hopelessly in love with chocolate and that makes me very happy to be one.
